Request for “Covers” Feature (Number of People sitting at the table)
My name is Jugal, and I am a Data Analyst. I would like to propose the addition of a new feature called "Covers" to our POS system (such as Epos Now and similar systems). This feature would enhance our service by allowing us to record the number of people sitting at each table, which would then be printed on the kitchen and bar receipts, as well as the final bill.
Currently, I have implemented a workaround by creating a product named "—-cover—-" and entering the quantity as the number of people at the table. However, an integrated "Covers" feature would streamline this process and provide several key benefits:
1. **Improved Kitchen and Bar Operations**: Knowing the number of diners at each table would help our chefs and bartenders better prepare pre-starters and complementary items, enhancing service efficiency and customer satisfaction.
2. **Enhanced Billing Information**: Printing the number of covers on the final bill would provide clarity to customers and staff, ensuring accurate billing and reducing potential disputes.
3. **Data-Driven Insights**: By tracking covers, we can calculate the average ticket size per person. This data is invaluable for conducting events, menu engineering, and making informed decisions to optimize our offerings and pricing strategies.
