File is not a database - Issue
Hi Team Aronium,
I am facing an issue while installing Aronium on my system. Please find the attached screenshot detailing the problem.
Details of the issue:
I have tried multiple reinstallations, but the software keeps asking for the database location.
Our system has multiple user profiles. I selected one of them and replaced the default path provided by Aronium. After clicking "Continue," the application proceeds but eventually restarts and shows the error described in the attached screenshot.

Hi Dear,
Thank you for sharing the details and the screenshot regarding the issue with Aronium installation. Based on the information provided, here are some suggestions to resolve the problem:
- Check for the Previous Database:
- I think the issue may be caused by not finding the previous database. Please check if the old database still exists in the previous installation location.
- OR Try to Reinstall the Software freshly:
- Uninstall Aronium completely.
- Delete any leftover configuration files (usually found in C:\ProgramData or %AppData%\Aronium).
- Reinstall the software using administrative privileges and keep the default settings.
- Use the Default Path: During installation, try using the default database path suggested by Aronium instead of selecting a custom location.
- Check File Permissions: Ensure that the folder you selected for the database has the proper read/write permissions. You can do this by right-clicking the folder, going to Properties > Security tab, and ensuring the user has full access.
- Run as Administrator: Try running Aronium as an administrator to ensure it has the necessary permissions to access the database location.
- Verify the Path: If you are using a custom path, double-check it for errors. Make sure it is a valid location and does not contain special characters or spaces.
If the issue persists, please let me know the exact error message displayed, as seen in the screenshot, so I can assist you further.
I’m not perfect, but I love to help. I had a similar issue before, and I understand how frustrating this can be. Let me know how it goes!
