Pre-Order Functionality with Deferred Inventory Deduction
Hi Aronium Team,
I’d like to request a new feature for handling pre-orders in the POS system.
Current Scenario:
Right now, I'm using the credit payment method to record customer pre-orders. However, when I do this, the system immediately deducts inventory stock, which causes a few issues:
-
The products may not actually be sold yet.
-
Customers sometimes change the product when they return to settle the balance.
-
It distorts current stock availability for other customers and sales.
Proposed Feature: Pre-Order Sales
Here’s what would really help:
-
Create a Pre-Order sale linked to a customer profile.
-
Accept advance payments (partial payments) during this stage.
-
Do not deduct inventory until the sale is fully paid and confirmed.
-
When the customer returns, allow the user to:
-
Finalize the sale.
-
Modify the products if needed (based on stock availability).
-
Pay the balance.
-
-
Once finalized, only then should inventory be deducted.
The key idea is to hold the transaction as a draft or pre-order, with the advance payment recorded under the customer’s name, and inventory remaining untouched until confirmation.
This would be incredibly useful for businesses like mine that handle customer-specific pre-orders and want more flexibility without messing up real-time inventory.
Thanks for considering!
