Daily Closing Report & Daily Sales Report

Hi,

I have a restaurant and bar together selling drinks and food weighted from the scale.  My daily closing (Z) reports amount are not balancing with the daily sales reports in management.  The amount in daily closing (Z) reports are balancing with the physical money in the cash drawer but the amount in daily sales reports in management are either high or lower.  In most cases before we start selling, we find a balance already in the daily sales report but nothing was sold since the closing of the previous day.

I tried to figure out what is causing but I have no clue.  Can you please assist.

  Operating hours are 09:00 - 00:00.

  Are you 100% your store operations did not cross the midnight mark?

  They do sometime close at 04:00 in the morning.

  Those sales which are settle after 12 midnight will be considered as the next days sales for the report. Z REPORT is reporting the period between Zs

  But why in most cases the money in the cash drawer is high than the money in the daily sales report in management?

  That's good. So long there is excess..

  There is no excess because the money shown on the daily closing equals to the money in the cash drawer.
