How to create prepaid customer account

I want to set up tabs for customers but instead of leaving a bill (aka a credit charge) I'd like that they can prepay (debit charge?)

  I was looking for a similar feature whereby the customer can prepay and own x amount credit and we will be able to deduct based on the transactions in the future

  And? Did you figure out a way to do it? Another option that would effectively do the same thing is to make a "credit limit" on are regular credit account based on how much the customer gives you. Let me know if you find anything. Thanks
