Adding new Products-directly or through .csv file with different bar-code number

HI

i observed a difficulty in separate entry of products of same name but different barcode.

please note the queries in this sequence of steps i explained.

1. Suppose i have a product name "product-1", with barcode "12345"

2. in the next batch or lot of supply, the barcode of same product "product-1" might changed to, say "123456"

3. now when i enter the same product from new batch, its accepting the new barcode, and then onwards, it recognises only the new barcode. in such case, even if some of the old barcoded stock, left over, it is not recognising it, UNLESS i change the product name also, along with new barcode. 

4. So, its very difficult to create new name each time for the same product.  This is also, creating problem, if i use .csv file to upload new batch with different barcodes.

Hope i could explain my above query clearly.

  Hi KKM,

  You should not create new product when barcode has changed, instead, all you have to do is add another barcode to the same product.

  If you have product with multiple barcodes, you can set as many barcodes as you like for a single item, as described at https://help.aronium.com/hc/en-us/articles/209345969-Manage-products

  

  So, if I understood correctly, do not create multiple products with the same name, instead, create one product and assign multiple barcodes to it.
