Same bar code for two different products--- editing the product

a peculiar situation here. The supplier has given same bar code for different products (all are made same price, as the qty is adjusted so that price remains same for all).

Now entering new products, we could do with .csv file. But later when wanted to edit the product name. its not allowing saying that some other product name (one from that product list) has same barcode.

even while entering the sale, whatever, the first product it recognizes with that barcode, its showing on the screen, even the sale product is different. (Yes its logical).

is there anyway to make this barcode different ? now could manage the sale, by using Name search rather than barcode based sale entry.

Some PoS programs allow duplicated products name as long as their barcode is unique. Aronium restricts alls products name and alls barcodes be unique.

You can solve this by adding a letter to identify each product.

Product name: Product Yellow Barcode: Y12345

Product name: Product Blue Barcode: B12345

If you do so, you'll have to type that letter in the barcode-field before scanning the product's barcode.
