Negative price product
CompletedAs the facility to cross promote/discount products isnt there yet, then having a product with a negative price would work just as well. I used to use unicenta software and setup a product with a negative amount which would be scanned in and essentially discount the item by the correct amount.
So in my use case. Buy A and get B free. So Add item A for £10 add item B for £1.50 scan barcode for product C for -£1.50 so total due is £10. This allows me to still use stock control.
So quick and easy compared to adding discounts to products on the fly as scanning them.
Any chance, please :-)

Hi Jim,
Thanks for detailed example. As you may already know, ability to set negative price is not allowed. Instead, please consider the following workaround.
What you can do is set variable price on "B" (turn on "Price change allowed" for this product), so, when you wish to have "Buy A and get B free", all you have to do is add "B" to the sale, a dialog screen will appear asking you to confirm or set new price, type in 0 for price and sell it.
This way, you do not have to have additional "C" product in receipt, receipt will clearly state that price of "B" is $0 and your stock will be up to date.Hope this helps.
Best regards, Aronium team.

If you sell gift cards in your retail store, you might have a problem.
Example:
Customer 1 buys a gift card for a friend for 10$ -> Cash income is +10$
Friend arrives with gift card and turn it in his gift card so the main total needs to be -10$.
Since you cant go into negative prices you can not sell gift cards.
Hopefully it gets implanted as soon as possible because it is used alot in some retail stores.

P
