Markup not automatically updating

How do I get the markup to adjust automatically when there are new costs of products or when new products are added. I've run the moving average cost and the markup percentage won't update. New products, the markup stays at 0 and I have to edit each product by entering in the selling price a second time to get the markup to change. I don't want the selling price to change, I just want the markup percentage to update. Do I have a setting wrong? How do I fix this?

  how about the User can Choose between Percentage Mark Up or Fixed Price Mark Up
