    Hi Paul,

As you already know, search by code works the same way as barcode does, so, we suppose you know your product code before you add it to the sale.

We would like to know a use-case where you search by any part of the product code (SKU), so we can understand this requirement better,

Can you please explain how do you use product codes in your store, and what benefit is coming from searching the codes the same way as search by name is done?

A use case is that a customer comes in and says how much is this and you know the item code 100168 however there are 20 products which have a similar title so doing a manual title search filters 20 items using the title " apple " for example and you still have to search visibly for the item.

By just entering the product code currently it ads it to the receipt automatically where as you might not always want to add it you might just want to check the price etc.

If the products filtered at the same time as entering the code it wouldat least give you an option whereas you can add or not.

Another use case is if you have an item with code 100168 as an example but you have several codes starting with 10016 it would at least filter down to 10 if you could not remember the exact number.

Alternatively in the text search field it could be useful to search for apple+green and filter all products that contain both words in the title that way you can narrow down the item more than having an exact name match.

Yes I would like to be able to search for any item also by a Product Code.
If there are several product codes similar and we can not quite remember the whole code, then typing in the first few digits would be handy to see all the items and choose the correct one..

Just like search by product name does.

My case is that I have items that are on consignment.
So as there is no consignment options in place, adding CON to the beginning of a product code would allow me to search for all Consignment items, so I could keep an eye on them, do stock-take against these items or whatever is needed to allow me to monitor them.

Adding them into their own category ( Like Consignment) would not be feasible as then if the product type was to be in two product areas, you would have to know where to look apart from the original area to get the correct item.

Unless there is some other way to 'search' for all items starting with 'Con " i.e. ConSweetTea  then it would be hard to manage these.

Until  (or If) you implement this in the future, it would be helpful.
    Thanks
