Will the cash drawer open if the print receipt option is set to no for a certain payment type, as the printer controls the opening of the cash drawer.

  Hi Lloyd,

  No, unfortunately, it will not.

  Cash drawer command is executed after receipt is printed, so, in order to open cash drawer, receipt must be printed or you can open it manually using a "Cash drawer" button on the main screen.

  On the other side, this sounds very reasonable, to have the ability to open cash drawer without issuing a receipt, and we'll see if it is possible to implement, or at least to add a dedicated button in "print dialog" so you can open cash drawer without going back to the main screen.

  I see that you have added the ability to open the cash drawer before printing the receipt. Will this new feature open the  cash drawer if the a Payment type Print receipt option is set to No (not selected).

  If so, is there anything else I have to do other than setting a Payment type Print receipt option to No (not selected) to get this to work?

  Hi Lloyd,

  Every payment type has explicit "Open cash drawer" option. This way, opening a cash drawer does not depend on receipt printing. For example, you may want to print receipt for card payment, but you do now want to open cash drawer, as there is no cash to put in cash register or change to return.

  So, if you wish not to open cash drawer for specific payment type, turn off "Open cash drawer" option.

  Yes this helps.

  I am just wondering why the Open Cash drawer, green bar is a light green, and the Slider is gray, rather than black, when the Open cash drawer is set to ON, and Print receipt is set to OFF.

  Hi Lloyd,

  Good point, thanks for reporting this.

  It is a leftover from the previous way it worked, depending on receipt print. Now, when it does not depends on print, we'll make it enabled no matter whether print receipt is turned on or off. This will be fixed in next minor update, very soon.

  Until then, you still can turn on / off cash drawer with "Print receipt" turned on. Once "Open cash drawer" is set the way you want it, you can then set "Print receipt" the way you wish. Use this as a workaround if you wish to disable receipt but enable cash drawer, just until we fix it.
