Selling Lottery Tickets?
I own a small convenience shop and I'm trying to set up the software to handle either a negative quantity or a negative price. I don't know if this is possible or not. I also cant figure out how to set up a follow-on item. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

When a customer cashes in a winning lottery ticket the winning amount needs to be a negative.(example: Customer wins $100 and takes $50 in cash and the other $50in product) how do i keep track of the money going out and the money going in. As far as the follow on item. I sell soda and in NY we are required to collect a bottle deposit on soda and beer. When i scan a soda i would like the $.05 bottle deposit to automatically be added to the soda without having to manually add it every sale. ( I have an employee that may or may not know what has a deposit and what does not.)

Thanks for the clarification.
Unfortunately, none of these functionalities exists at this moment. The best you can do regarding lottery ticket is to use the refund option for this scenario, as follows:
- Create a new product (name it "Lottery" or similar)
- Turn on "Price change allowed" for this product (with this option turned on, you will be asked to enter/confirm price before item is added to the sale)
- Turn on "Service (not using stock)" option, too, so it does not counts quantities on stock
- When customer wins $100, create a "refund" with this item, and enter $100 for the price, close it with a "Cash" payment type
Regarding follow-up item, unfortunately, all you can do is manually add "deposit" item along with a bottle being sold, there is no automatic process for this.
We will consider adding these functionalities in the future, for sure, if I remember correctly, some other users asked for lottery, too.
If you wish, we can move this to the feature requests, so other users can comment and vote, if it gets enough votes, it will probably be picked up for development.
Thanks.
