    Hi Enrique,

Changing product tax based on a situation or user choice is something that is not planned, i'm sorry.

You can turn on "Price change allowed" option in product settings, so you are prompt to enter price before each sale. However, this will use the same tax assigned to a product, so, your tax reports wouldn't be correct, as you want to sell an item without tax in some situations, and I guess this is not an option for you.

We'll leave this ticket open for votes and comments, if there is enough votes on this, we'll consider it in the future.

    Thanks, Aronium team.

I've searched 92 different POS systems and none do what I need.  Aronium comes VERY close - but the deciding factor is I need to be able to remove tax/change the type of tax at the checkout, as well as have a field on Customer profiles that allows me to designate which tax rates they should pay.

I dearly wish you would include this and it isn't a huge coding deal.  I'll donate if you do it very quickly.

    Hi Ryan,

As you may already know, tax rates are assigned to a product, not the customer, and this is something that cannot be easily changed as it would break too many things.

Can you please explain your scenario a bit better, if possible with an example, if may be helpful?

If I understood correctly, you would like to assign some taxes to a customer, correct?
If this is correct, in case where sale contains two products, one with a "Tax A" and another with "Tax B", and customer has only "Tax B" assigned, what happens with products added to the sale with different tax, not assigned to customer (e.g. "Tax A")?

    Thanks, Aronium team.

    Hi...

I have a store in which about 60% of my customers are exempt from taxes, but 40% pay GST tax and PST tax in Canada.

I need to be able to make addon a customer profile the tax rates they are subject to, or to be able to override tax rates on a customer profile so that if I make a sale and add a Tax exempt customer, it automatically changes the number at checkout...

and obviously if I remove that customer it adds the taxes back in.

    Regards,

    Ryan

Something like this would also be useful in the UK where Eat In/Take Out situations, as Eat In food is taxed differently to Take Away food.

In the UK, Take Away food can be 0% VAT, but Eat In food is always 20% VAT. A customer called "Eat In" could be created with a tax rate of 20% and when this customer is selected the tax rate for all items in the transaction is set to 20%, the individual item tax rate is ignored. (An item with Tax A is changed to Tax B for the transaction when a customer with Tax B is selected.)

Alternatively a button on the main order screen that allows you to select an item and change it's tax rate for just that transaction, like you change change a item's quantity?

Good evening, I have the same situation for Costa Rica. If the type of order is for Salon, a 10% service tax must be charged. But if the order is to take said tax is not charged. Currently I can not distinguish the type of service, for this reason the service tax is charged equally to all items. Any solution you can give us, the software is excellent but this detail makes it impossible to use it. Thank you.

I have had some issues with being able to assign a tax amount to certain customers, because some are using a tax exemption. The only way to do this with the existing Aronium system is to use the discount % at check out, or change the discount % on each item that is related to the exemption at the time of check out. Other than that, there is not a tax exemption option to choose, but like so many others, I really like the Aronium POS and all that it does.
