Product quantity

Hello, new user here and trying to figure some of the workflows.  When I am adding a product directly (that is, not importing with CSV) where do I enter the quantity?  Do I have to close out Products, go into Stock, look up the product I entered, and then add quantity?  Is there a simpler workflow without using CSV import?

  Hi Heather,

  Use "Purchase" document to add quantities to the stock as you purchase them. 

  Aronium is using documents as a trigger for updating stock levels. For example, when you create a sale, a "Sales" document is created and quantities are automatically taken out of the stock. The same goes for adding quantities to stock, but using different document types. To add stock levels, use "Purchase" document.   To adjust stock levels, use "Inventory count" document, as described at https://help.aronium.com/hc/en-us/articles/115001110085-Inventory-count

  Wow, thank you so much!  I had no idea what "documents" were or what I would use them for (I just assumed they were reports or something -- calling them "records" would be more intuitive perhaps ;) and I didn't quite catch that going through the user documentation.  So thanks for educating me.

  So if I should be using "documents" to carry out these management tasks, when would you use "Products" and "Stock" features?  Eager to know so I can start leveraging the full potential of this awesome platform.  Is there any other user guide available that goes into more depth than the KB articles posted here?
