Recommend POS System

Hello. All,

I wanted to set up POS system for my mom's store. She does not have system yet, she has just regular cash register which it required to input price on each item. anyway.

can you guys please recommend me with complete POS system to install Aronium?

I am afraid to buy barcode printer, receipt printer etc from such as aliexpress.

  Hi Lee,

  We do not practice recommending hardware, as we are not selling it, but we can give you some guidelines.

  Barcode reader

  To put it simple - any barcode will work. There are no specific requirements for Aronium when choosing barcode, so, as long as you can scan barcode to a Notepad, it will work with Aronium. This is because every barcode acts as a keyboard, so it will output some "code" instead of you typing it on keyboard. The only thing you should take care is to make sure it sends ENTER key after the scan, so the item gets automatically added to the sale when scanned.

  Receipt printer

  Aronium supports two different types of printing on thermal printers:

  1. ESC/POS - using standard Epson ESC/POS protocol (more info here)
  2. Print using standard Windows print job (more info here)

  Regarding the first one, ESC/POS is the standard protocol available in vast majority of thermal printers in the market, but this something you should confirm with your dealer

  For the second one, it comes to this: if you can print from Notepad to your printer you will be able to use Aronium, too. This type of print is using printer driver's functionalities and it is used by default in Aronium.
