Adding product cost when adding a new or editing a product

Can the free version of this software allow you to change product price when editing a product.

Whenever I edit a product or make a new one it allows me to add the mark up and sales price but wont allow me to add the product cost to each product.

The box to add the cost is greyed out and wont let me amend it from its default which is 0.00.

is there anyway to add this cost or do you need the paid version to do it?

  Hi Info,

  If cost price in product details is disabled, it is because you have moving average price enabled, which is recommended way of storing cost price. You can read more about moving average price at https://help.aronium.com/hc/en-us/articles/4406829564434-Moving-average-price. With moving average price, you do not need to enter cost price manually, it is calculated automatically based on your inventory and your purchase documents.
  
  However, if you still wish to enter cost prices manually, you can disable moving average price in Settings > Products settings and you will be able to enter cost price for your products. One important note to keep in mind is that cost price is considered to be before tax, so if you need to calculate markup for a product, you will have to enter its sale price before taxes.
