This article provides information and the fix for the situation where you are not able to sign in to your Aronium account or to refresh the license from the application. The fix is safe to execute and requires less than 5 minutes to complete.
What happened?
From January 2024, our web servers require the latest security protocols (TLS) to be used when communicating with Aronium instances.
However, some older Windows versions (Windows 7 or earlier) are using old security protocols by default, and, for this reason, requests are rejected and you may not be able to sign in or refresh license directly from your application.
You may be receiving the following error message when you try to log in to your Aronium account or to reload the license:
Who is affected?
Computers running Windows 7 and computers running Aronium versions prior to 1.39.
How do I fix it?
We have prepared a plugin that solves the problem by ensuring the latest security protocols are used when communicating with our web servers.
All you have to do is to to install the TLS Fix plugin from the links below:
Once you download the fix for your Aronum version, do the following:
- Close Aronium application if it is running
- Double click on downloaded TLS fix installer
- Follow on screen instructions and complete the setup
- Run aronium and try to sign in to your account or reload the license
What is the alternative?
If the above fix is not working and you are still seeing the same error, you can always download and use your license manually, as described at How do I update a license on my computer?
Once you have your license updated, please reach out to us via support@aronium.com or by creating a support ticket so we can investigate further and apply some alternative solutions to fix the problem permanently.
