Multi currency support
CompletedDear team, I'm searching for a pos system and come across your app. I like it a lot, unfortunately I stuck in one feature that I can't use it in my small business. I'm from Cambodia and in my country we usually use our own currency as well as US dollars, but I cannot find the remedy to this solution.
So I would like to see the multi currency feature support some time in the future, I don't know if anybody else also need this feature or not.
Thank you for a wonderful and free app, please keep up the good work!
Best,
Virak

Dual currency is available in version 1.43. See https://aronium.com/en/features/dual-currency for more information and download.
Please be aware that this plugin prints second currency in receipt only, not in A4/A5 invoice.
Thanks, Aronium team.

Hi Rak,
Thank you for your feature request.
Unfortunately, this feature does not exists, Aronium is not aware of multiple currencies.
We'll leave this feature request open so other users can comment and vote for it, and, if possible, provide some more details what is required for this feature to be implemented, for example:
- Can you use multiple currencies on a single receipt?
- If you do, how would receipt look in case multiple currencies are used in a single sale?
- Is automatic exchange required (meaning that Aronium is aware of currencies exchange rates via some cloud API and adjust the price automatically), and how would that work?
- How do you choose which currency is to be used in a sale? Is it product based or you can sell one product in multiple currencies?
- If you choose a currency for a sale, is it automatically calculated against your "domestic" currency (used to set initial product price)?
Thanks, Aronium team.

Hi,
Thank you for your prompt reply. I will try to explain the situation as follow:
- I would want to treat US dollar as main currency and Cambodian Riel (KHR) as domestic currency, 1USD=4,000KHR.
- We widely use US dollar in the country and the smallest amount is 1 dollar bill.
- Records/transactions would be still in USD, convert any transaction in KHR to USD based on exchange rate.
- Automatic exchange is not required, we can input the rate on management screen.
- Products use in sale is USD, but the product price should show to customer (via customer display screen) in both USD and KHR when enter the product.
- In Payment window, I would like to be able to pay in USD, KHR or both. Since the smallest USD use in my country is 1 dollar, so anything less that 1USD convert to KHR.
- In the receipt, I would like to see product price/other info show in USD only, but show both USD and KHR on total and change fields.
Thank you again for your time and consideration.

Hi,
If you are asking about currency symbol, please read instructions how to change it at https://help.aronium.com/hc/en-us/articles/115002880512-Currency-symbol.

thank both the respected developers and the contributors.
i am looking for a possibility of having two currency as my colleagues RAK from Cambodia explained. we use here in Somaliland, both Somaliland Shillings and USD as second most used, i will need to have my cost totally in USD and my POS can automatically show how much in local currency under the total of the receipt. in this respect, there must be somewhere in the setting to add the USD exchange value and this can be printed both the receipt but also shows in the display
-
I think nobody still see important multi currency.. but simple i ideas, is that we use may be Somaliland Shilings, but be able to have an areas to update the Dollar Rate 1sl/4000sl, but this i want to be able to print last page page total equivalent to the items sold both the local curency and dolar one

Actually In my country most supermarket software uses CDF as currency but also allow people to pay in USD, what happens is when people pay in USD the amount get converted and the exchange is given in CDF, the exchange rate and the return amount is printed on the bill. maybe I should capture a sample bill to show you
-
This issue must have been highlighted a little while ago, but after using your product for a while i have also realised the need to have a multi currency option. Im from Africa and we trade both in local currency and USD, a customer can pay either in usd or using the local currency at a specified bank rate

Dear Aronium,
Multiple currency will benefit for everyone.
we offer Multiple rates for same currency, like for notes like $1-$49 rate is Rs 175
$50- $100 Rs 180so i think automatic exchange rate is not working well. but if system ask the rates for currency it will be fine.
sometimes we use precious metals like gold as a currency.most of time split payments suits for this kind of transactions.
thank you!

I support Rak San comment. It's great for two currency just display on screen and invoice. Records/transactions and everything else would be still in USD. This should be very big change for many country that they would like to use with their currency and US dollar currency.
Thank you very much!! -
Hola Saludos!
1) establecer y seleccionar Moneda Local

Hello greetings!
Congratulated the developers excellent program. It can become a success if the multi-currency thing is created.
I am from Venezuela and as in many countries the economy is affected by inflation. Other currencies are acquired or appear in our case the American Dollar and Colombian Pesos (due to the commercial proximity with the neighboring country)
What many very high-cost software implement here is that the currency for legal use is the Bolívar. And it is the currency that must come out on invoices because that is what the law establishes.
Today on the date that I write this comment 1 USD = A 19 Bolivares. (But 8 years ago that figure was 19,000,000,000 as a result of the hyperinflation that we Venezuelans have experienced)
The multi-currency module should allow.
1) set and select Local Currency
2) allow to manually set the exchange rate of currencies (other currencies)
3) in forms of payment, establish the form of payment, the currency in which the payment was made, for example in my country.A product is sold for 380 Bolivares, my client paid with $10 and 190Bs in cash.
The bill comes out for 380Bs
Forms of payment Cash Bs 190 Currency USD ($10) Bs 190 for a total paid of 380BsBut in my country there is something else that is change, there are no simple coins or low denomination USD bills and sometimes that change or change is usually given in Bolivares, whether in cash or digital.
Example the sale was 133Bs ($7) customer pays with $10 there is no change in foreign currency and the return is delivered in Bolivares cash ($3) 57 Bs
I know it seems a bit complicated but we have been dealing with this problem for 3 years now and I have realized that the same situation is happening in other countries.
Clearly the reports have to have that currency exchange history but always with the scoop that there is only 1 base currency as the Manager.io program works but this is based only on accounting also developed for free and a very powerful accounting tool
I hope I can contribute to developing this module in the system that would make it more valuable.
Currently I use the system for 1 month. All excellent. I created a form of payment called foreign currency and I keep the information there, I manually make the change. For example, if I know that they paid me 190Bs for a sale and that is in foreign currency, I register currencies but understand how complicated it is but since I love the system I am using it that way and it has helped me a lot and I no longer have to manually write everything down in an Excel workbook.
I hope you can help me with this implementation

Hello Rak,
Thank you for your feature request.
Unfortunately this feature does not exist, Aronium does not recognize multiple currencies.
We will leave this feature request open so that other users can comment and vote on it and, if possible, provide more details on what is required to implement this feature, for example:
1) Can you use multiple currencies on one receipt?
NO, the receipt should be issued in only 1 legal tender. "The currency" (second currency, it is simply another form of payment that is detailed in the payment methods)
2)If it does, what would the receipt look like if multiple currencies were used in a single sale?
Total Product in Main Currency 100$ usd
Payment Methods
cash 50$ usd
Currency (€46) (Rate $1,086) $50 usd3) Is automatic exchange required (meaning Aronium knows the currency exchange rates via some cloud API and adjusts the price automatically), and how would it work?
NO, the exchange rate can be selected daily and entered manually at the start of the day.
4) How do you choose which currency will be used in a sale?
NO, the selection of the Main Currency is the base of the system. Receiving currencies as forms of payment is simply converting the value to be paid with the value of the currencies to be received.
5) Is it product based or can you sell a product in multiple currencies?NO, in the most common case it is to establish a base currency in the system and treat the currencies as a form of payment to be received. (if they can visualize the Manager.io program) they will understand the operation of the conbertibility of currencies.
6) If I choose a currency for a sale, is it automatically calculated against your "home" currency (used to set the initial price of the product)?
Correct the form of payment upon receipt will have to be calculated based on the previously established exchange rate.

True this feature would be great time saving specially if we can easily enter the rate value to the dollar.
Like in Lebanon the the LBP rate is always changing based on dollar per eg.: on today rate 1$ equal 89500LBP, one week earlier it was 93000LBP per 1 dollar
If there was like a mini calculator taking the total amount then multiplying it to the entered rate it would be very helpfull -
dear's in Lebanon we have a problem regarding the cost price, always in USD but the sale price in LBP and in immediately we need to change the exchange rate .
Please we need to add a new field in the setting to multiples all cost price from currency to currency like "USD to LBP"
Example : Today In Lebanon The 1 $ = 89500 LBP
Please advise
best regards
