    Aronium Support

    Hi Chandradat,

If you can scan barcodes to Notepad with your scanner, it will work with Aronium, too.

No barcode setup is required for Aronium, barcode scanners acts as a keyboard, so, as long as you can install it on your PC and scan your barcodes to any text editor (e.g. Notepad) you will be able to use it in Aronium. The only thing you should check is if barcode search is enabled as described at https://help.aronium.com/hc/en-us/articles/208766849-Workspace.

    Regards, Aronium team.

i have given my own unique barcode-like 100001, 100002,.. to 100699. And I have used the Codabar format of barcode. my scanner scans almost of the barcode but it does not scan some barcodes. What might be the problem?

    Thanks in advance.

    1. General Compatibility Check
Most USB barcode scanners, including the Abesso Nuscan 2000, function as keyboard emulation devices (HID). This means they act like a keyboard and input scanned data wherever the text cursor is active. Aronium POS supports any scanner that operates in HID mode.

➡️ Good news: If your scanner works in HID mode (plug-and-play), it should be compatible with Aronium.

    2. Basic Troubleshooting Steps
    a) Test the Scanner in a Simple Text Editor
    Open Notepad or WordPad.

Place the cursor in the document.

    Scan a barcode.

✔️ Expected Result: You should see the barcode number appear as typed text.

❌ If nothing appears: The scanner might not be working properly.

    b) Check Scanner Beep or Light Feedback
Most scanners emit a beep or flash a light when they scan successfully.

If you don't get this feedback, the scan isn't being read.

    c) Verify Scanner Connection
Ensure the USB cable is fully connected.

    Try another USB port.

Test the scanner on a different PC to isolate if it's a hardware issue.

    3. Configuration & Settings
Some scanners require configuration barcodes from the user manual to enable specific modes (like HID Keyboard Mode).

Check the user guide for Abesso Nuscan 2000 for:

Keyboard language settings (US/UK layout differences can cause issues).

Data transmission mode (Keyboard/HID vs Serial/COM port mode).

Suffix configuration (make sure it sends an ENTER key after scan).

    ➡️ Common Solution:
Scan a barcode from the manual that sets the scanner to USB Keyboard Mode (HID).

    4. Aronium POS Settings
In Aronium, go to the Settings > Hardware > Barcode Scanner section.

Ensure it is set to accept keyboard input.

No special drivers are required if it’s working as HID.

    5. Conclusion
If your scanner types into Notepad, it will work with Aronium. If it doesn't:

    Reconfigure scanner to HID mode.

    Test on a different PC.

If still unresponsive, you might have a defective unit or need firmware support from Abesso.
