Mega Slowdown
Morning all,
first off, love the software, come over to Aronium having used a couple of the open source POS systems for the last 4 years
Right, I am having mega slowdown issues. After a couple of hours it would seriously be quicker to use pen & paper! I am running this standalone on 2 mini pc's, specs below (more than meet minimum requirements).
Intel Atom X5-Z8350 Quad core at 1.86Mhz
4GB Ram
64GB eMMC
Intel Gfx
Windows 10
NO images used for buttons in visual mode
Nothing running in the background
800 products, all categorised, multiple levels deep
2.1GB ram used
After a fresh reboot, very fast, instant keyboard response, instant searches, no CPU spikes.
After a couple of hours, very slow, each key press (either keyboard or touchscreen) takes a second or two to register, searches take roughly 4 - 5 seconds, ram usage goes up to around 2.6 to 2.8GB, massive CPU spikes.
Disk access is minimal during the slowdown, no spikes there.
Reboot the software and all is well again.
I want to move across to the networked version, but until this slowdown is fixed, I don't even know if I can continue using the software at this point.
I hope someone can help :-)
Kind regards, Jim.

Hi Jim,
Thanks for details, much appreciated.
There is a ticket filed for developers already to investigate this issue. Unfortunately, the problem with this kind of issues is it requires a lot of time to find out where the problem is.
We will investigate this for sure, but we cannot promise when this will be fixed. So, in order to try and speed up the investigation, can you please provide some more details, as you are obviously on top of it already?
- Can you please tell us how many (approximately) sales you do before the slow down happens?
- Can you tell us are you doing any other operations during this period, like managing documents or stock in "Management" section?
- What printer type are you using, is it "ESC/POS" or "POS 58/80" (may not be so relevant, but we just want to make sure that the problem may not be there)
Thanks, Aronium team.
