Expiration date product
CompletedThis is a very important function for those who sell products which have an expiration date, like some foodstuffs, and very important if the user of the system is a pharmacy, since here is not only the problem of expiration, but also the possibility of sale of some medically expired and that this affects the health of the buyer.
It would be very good to have an attribute in the product, it can be established whether or not it has expiration, and if it is affirmative to be able to indicate its expiration date
Also in the reports have a specific where you can see what are the products to beat.

Hi everyone.
Finally, long waited functionality is available with version 1.44. You can find instructions on how to use Expiration date plugin at https://help.aronium.com/hc/en-us/articles/21980187500178-Add-expiration-date.
A huge thanks and shout-out goes to @John, who initially created an application that can be used to track expiration date and even send notifications via Telegram, inspiring us to rethink how this can be done and take the steps to create Aronium plugin for the expiration date.
We hope that you will be able to choose between the two solutions (John's and ours) and use the one that works for you the best.
Thanks, Aronium team.

aging product list then easy to put on promotion list to sell out the product as soon as possible

I would also like to see some form of this feature implemented, but I understand that it would be very difficult to implement FIFO well. I think I have a suggestion that may simplify it a bit.
My idea would work as follows:
- There is a option to specify expiry date when adding items to purchase document.
- A new report added that lists products that have a expiration date within the selected date range.
The system would not need to keep track of sales, and it would not matter if products were sold in the wrong order (so no need for FIFO). It would be able to handle having multiple batches of a product with different expiration dates in stock at the same time, as it only needs to search back through past purchase documents looking for a matching product and date, it could find multiple matches. This simplified system would not be completely accurate, as it wouldn't know if all of a batch of products has already been sold, but would be a useful reminder of which products need to be checked.
I think that, for my purpose, something like this would be useful for products that sit on the shelf for a long time (i.e. low volume sales), or items with short expiration periods (raw meat etc.). I could print out the report of expiring products in the morning, then walk round during the day checking if any of the old products are still left on the shelf. It's not really an expiration control system, but it is like an expiration reminder.
Would this be easier to implement?

Hi
i am just checking if this thought of implementing in a simple manner as mentioned by Ash, above.
its REALLY and important simple feature for a small retailers like us, to keep track of expiring inventory and do some thing for promoting sales, else we loose track and loss the product itself, by forcing us to remove from stock and lose money. :(

Hi
This is important feature expire date with early Alert option, for all type of product sales shop. Because most of the product have expire date. In the product updating time we can update expire date.
eg: if early alert option we can set 3 months before expire date (if the product expire date 1 yrs or more) it will help us to put promotion and sold out.
One of my friend recommend me this Aronium POS system, but he not use because of expire date feature not available. (he running Pharmacy).
I hope aronium team will update this feature soon.
Thanks,

Hi KKM,
You should place your vote on the original post, as in the screenshot below.

This is the easiest way for us to keep track of number of votes for a feature, rather then manually counting votes on each comment and counting "YES" comments. So, please, place your vote on original post, it is where the votes should accumulate.
Thanks, Aronium team.

Hi
recently i found, it is VERRRRRY difficult to keep track of expiry dates... and doing it manually for each item check is almost impossible task.. i sent a feedback to general mail about this.
If a a parameter added in data entry , say part of CSV column, that is enough for users to keep track the dates, whenever they wish by sorting the latest list according to dates.
Please help this will help smaaaal retailers...
Thanks

HI
is there any plan to include this soon?
please do this as soon as possible. Frankly, I lost many products because of difficulty in maintaining and planning for timely sales of the inventory as per expiry dates.
Had this column is added along with other specifications such as Unit, Quantity, price, etc. for the product, that is enough for very small business like us. No need of highly technical means of including it in the system.
Wish to hear the good news soon.

Agree that it's needed. Please add.
Also agree with Ash, it doesn't have to be a perfect FIFO system.
Just an option to input expiry date when inputing Purchase into the system, and perhaps on the same step an option when to get a warning notification of upcoming expiry date (with a default value of say a couple weeks).
Input Docs>Purchase, on the qtt input form: add expire date, reminder length (days/weeks/months).
On the shelves, new items will be put on the back row, this will +- be the FIFO de facto. But a reminder is still needed to check them.
Even if the POS doesnt do anything smart other than a simple reminder of the dates, it would help alot as we can go to the item on the shelf to make a quick look if any of the earlier batch are still there.
*on a similar note is the minimum stock warning (individual item as some need longer leadtime)
These two things would bring Aronium's stock management level up couple of notches.
Please consider.. -
@londobali
thanks for the support.
by the way to give more weightage to the request you need to Vote at the original request.
if not voted, please do so.
Moreover, even if it doesn't have a reminder of dates, it should be fine. (May be its much better for a bog businesses)
because, we can AT LEAST, view the list by sorting time to time and can recognise the items need attention.
Just adding an additional variable along with other data input is enough and shall be part of csv file column.

@KKM, i sure did! :)
I'm by far not a programmer and would have a single clue how to do it.
I can't even imagine how it would be inserted in the database (of row and columns), as one item might contain several batches with different expiry dates.
Hence my thought of a simple reminder system: stored in a separate log with the date, and a link to the purchase document.
Or perhaps like you said, just a list of dates to check & whan items to check. super simple - in my limited mind anyway.
It's also useful for clothing or accessories stores when they want to cycle their stock, say after 6 months a certain t-shirt will be sold at discount to make room for new design..
Cheers
