Perform regular backup
Backing up your data is very important and should be done on daily basis.
Store a copy of database off site, so, in case of PC failure, damaged hard-drive or any other situation where you can loose your work, you can reinstall Aronium and restore database in minutes.
To create a backup copy of your database, open settings and select "Database" section and make sure you have automatic backups enabled.
Click "Backup database" button and select location on your computer where you wish to store a copy of your database.
Keep your backup safe
Never store your copy on the same PC where your working database is. In case of hard-drive failure you may end up loosing both working and backup copies.
Backup database file will include date and time when backup was performed (for example "aronium-database-2017-04-22-03-11.db"), so you can track the latest one, in case you need to restore your data.
Automatic backup
Automatic database backups help protect your data from accidental loss, corruption, or hardware failure. When enabled, Aronium can automatically create backup copies of your database at regular intervals or when the application starts or closes.
-
Enable automatic backups
Turns automatic backup functionality on or off. When enabled, Aronium can create database backups automatically based on the options configured below. -
Backup database on application start
Creates a backup copy of the database each time Aronium starts. This helps ensure that a recent backup exists before you begin working. -
Backup database on application close
Creates a backup copy of the database when Aronium is closed. This is useful for saving a backup after daily work is completed. -
Back up automatically (scheduled backups)
Defines how often Aronium should create scheduled backups while the application is running.
For example, setting this value to2creates a backup every 2 hours.
Set the value to0to turn off scheduled backups. -
Backup location
Specifies the folder where automatic backup files will be saved. You can enter the folder path manually or use the browse button to select a location. -
Delete old backups automatically
Allows Aronium to remove older backup files automatically. This helps prevent the backup folder from taking up too much disk space. -
Delete backups older than
Defines how many days backup files should be kept before they are automatically deleted.
For example, setting this value to3deletes backups older than 3 days.
Tip
To keep your backup files even safer, install a cloud storage application such as Google Drive or Dropbox on your computer, then set the Backup location to a folder inside your Google Drive or Dropbox folder.
This way, backup files created by Aronium will be automatically uploaded to the cloud by the cloud storage application.
