On this page you can learn how to configure following:
- Company Data
- Integration with TaxCore SDC
- Receipt Printing
- Payment Types
- Taxes
- Automatic Receipt Printing
Before configuring VSMS, make sure you have the required secure element for your selected setup. V-SDC uses a file-format digital certificate. E-SDC requires a smart card secure element and third-party E-SDC software component with which Aronium integrates.
Before using the VSMS plugin, you need to complete the required setup steps to enable integration with VSMS.
Company Data
You must update your company data to include at least: Company name, Tax number and Country. Tax number must match the Tax Number in your Store at my Aronium (ie at https://my.aronium.com/stores/) and your Tax Number from your certificate. The country must obviously be Vanuatu.
To setup your company data, please go to Main menu/Management/My Company (#1). For example the Tax Number is #2 below.
Integration with TaxCore SDC
To connect to VSMS servers, you must setup TaxCore SDC. Please open Aronium main menu / Settings / TaxCore (#1).
If you are using V-SDC:
- You will need production certificate from VSMS. Please install them following instructions obtained from VSMS. You can also doublecheck TaxCore documentation.
- In #2, enter your Url to Virtual-SDC. Please note for V-SDC you must use https. The url must end with /api. To obtain V-SDC url, please see TaxCore documentation here. You can try using: "https://vsdc.vsms.gov.vu/api" for production access or "https://vsdc.sandbox.taxcore.online/api" for sandbox access. The url must match your certificate .
- Select Virtual-SDC toggle switch to on in #5.
- After having installed your certificates, please select the appropriate one from Certificate dropdown (#3).
- Please specify your PAC in #4.
- If you are just testing the system, please select training mode #6.
If you are using E-SDC:
- You will need to obtain smart card reader.
- In #2, enter Url to the External-SDC. For E-SDC it must be http. The url must end with /api.
- Select Virtual-SDC toggle switch to off in #5, indicating your want to use E-SDC.
- Please enter your PIN in #4.
- If you are just testing the system, please select training mode #6.
Receipt Printing
You must setup how your Receipts are printed, and confirm you can see the whole reciept and also that you are able to scan the QR code from the receipt. As this is dependent on your printer, it takes little time to make it work well.
VSMS plugin uses SDC Journal data returned by TaxCore to print out the receipt, including both the QR code and the receipt text.
These are your options to fix the receipt:
1) TaxCore Receipt size is controlled from the following menu:
If you open Settings / Print (#1) / Printer selection (#2) / Printer settings (#3) / SDC Journal (#4). There you can decrease the size of your reciept by using the slider (#5). This is mostly useful to set your recepit text correctly if it is running out of space on the right-hand size. For example you can change the Width setting to 38 or 36.
2) You can also configure usual Aronium printer behaviour following this page: https://help.aronium.com/hc/en-us/articles/115003406071-Setting-up-Windows-printer. There you can add margins - please start with the right one, adding 3. This is mostly useful if your QR code is missing the right hand side of the square.
3) You can change the font to a more narrow option, which can result in your text fitting. This is done in Settings/Print/Print Templates/Font.
4) If issues continue, you can also try switching to Generic/text printer, ie setting this up: https://help.aronium.com/hc/en-us/articles/115003405831-Setting-up-Generic-Text-only-printer.
After you setup printer, please confirm it works. While in Testing mode, print your receipt and make sure you can see the whole receipt and that you can scan QR code using your phone camera.
Payment Types
You can go to Main menu / Payment types (#1). There, please map your existing payment types to ones provided by TaxCore (#2) like so:
Taxes
Before you use VSMS plugin, you must setup your Taxes. Most importantly Taxes require Code and Rate. You must know what Taxes are used in Vanuatu, and enter them into the system. To learn how to add Taxes in Aronium, please see https://help.aronium.com/hc/en-us/articles/210070405-Tax-rates-VAT. Once added, they need to be connected to products, please see this.
As of June 2026, these some of the known taxes.
| Name | Rate | Code |
| VAT | 15.00 | V |
| VAT-Z | 0.00 | Z |
Automatic Receipt Printing
By default Aronium customers can choose how to handle the receipt (print receipt, send by email, save as pdf, etc), but this can be changed in Settings. By disabling ‘Display receipt print dialog’ (#1), receipts will be printed automatically after each sale:
